The 6th Child Cafe

We had the Thai Beef Rendang, Thai Salad, Beef Noodle Soup, Chicken Burger and Brekkie Breakfast. They were all delicious and well balanced. The wait for food took a while but worth the wait. The coffee was excellent, we had the long black and latte. Definitely will be back for the food when we are not in a rush.

Awsum authentic fresh asian simple food. Great bagel haloumi bagel--that sauce was amazing! Beef rendang reminded me of home cooking. Great first time experience and it will not be the last! This place goes into my brekkie/lunch rotation list!

This hidden gem is potentially too hidden, but the hard-working ladies here produce delicious, unique dishes whilst also being familiar enough that there's something for everyone. Smiling service, good coffee and one of the few places which haven't raised prices in the last year. Hope everyone helps keep this little business going.

- Update Dec 2025: Another EXCELLENT breakfast... The coffee was outstanding and the food is very yum! There are other options around here that look bigger and better but I assure you this place is a cut above with flavour and uniqueness a MUST HAVE gem. Give it a try and you will be hooked. Checkout the pics The food is VERY, VERY DELICIOUS!!! Highly recommend checking them out, we have been there twice in three weeks and both times I was extremely happy with the flavours. The staff are very kind and friendly and the prices are definitely lower than you'd expect for the quality. The interior looks very vintage in the most positive way but I would go here for the food not the decor, don't think twice, the food is amazing!

Fantastic catering for group of 40 for end of year. So much delicious food. Perfectly catered to all dietary needs. Highly recommend.

Awesome café with delicious South East Asian food as well as regular Melbourne café staples. The Thai Beef Rendang is a real standout with spice perfectly balanced with a fruity sweetness.

Owner Rasy put everything into her food and hospitality. 6th child is a place you can always come for amazing food and know it will hit the mark everytime. Her food is filled with flavour and her items on the menu are quite unique for brunch and dinner options. Her meals have an amazing Asian twist and even the ingredients she uses are of high quality. It’s a place I love coming back to over and over again due to the consistency and value for money. I love supporting local businesses who put their heart in everything they do!

2023.10 A must-visit place with delicacy to die for. Coffee is nice for sure. Chef is extremely experienced in spices and flavors, the smashed avo (with that amazing marinated mushroom), shakshuka (that sauce my gosh), and the vegetarian wok tossed noodles (couldn’t help but finished the whole plate) were so on spot. I definitely left as a satisfied food lover. Thank you, the 6th Child Cafe!
